About Julian

I’m a chartered engineer with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I’ve worked for 20 years in the car industry in engine design and development for companies like Cosworth, Ford, GM and Vauxhall/Opel.

I’ve been a keen mountain-biker since I moved to North Yorkshire 14 years ago and have always done all my own bike maintenance. I gained an IMI Level 3 Course in Cycle Mechanics with The Bike Inn in Appleby in Summer, 2021.

I am also both Shimano and Bosch accredited, have Shimano and Bosch diagnostic tools and am able to supply genuine Shimano and Bosch parts for bikes and e-Bikes.

I do repairs, regular maintenance, bike fits and set-ups (if you want to buy your bike online) and bike upgrades. I’m also very happy to just repair a puncture on all types of bike.

I work in a dedicated unit in Helmsley and have a modern workshop equipped with the right tools for working on bikes of all kinds.

I can provide a collection and delivery service within 25 miles of Helmsley. For bigger jobs I might be willing to travel further, if necessary.

NEW BIKE BUILD

I took my wife's bike and my own to Julian after a fortnight of hard use in France and a journey there and back on the roof rack.
It is fair to say that they were tired.
Julian had them for a week and they came back like new, in fact in the case of my wife's bike it was better set up than when she collected it from Liv in York.
Julian is an engineer by profession and boy does it show. His diligence and attention to detail is second to none.
Costs were very reasonable. I wouldn't use anyone else. Highly recommended.
